The Corner News: Kick Off Spring Time at the East Alabama Home and Garden Show

Looking for something to get out and do while enjoying early spring? Come out this weekend to the inaugural East Alabama Home and Garden Show at the downtown event center in Opelika, and get a head start on all of your spring home improvement projects!

Looking for something to get out and do while enjoying early spring? Come out this weekend to the inaugural East Alabama Home and Garden Show at the downtown event center in Opelika, and get a head start on all of your spring home improvement projects!

The show will be Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. encompassing a wide assortment of 25-30 vendors. The vendors will range all the way from fencing to banking and will be available for residents for talk to about their project needs.

“It is an opportunity for residents to see many different ways of updating and spiffing up their homes and gardens under one roof,” Rex Maynor, publisher of Opelika- Auburn News said.

Vendors will offer project advice and product demonstrations along with many door prizes. The Home Depot and the Lee County Master Gardener’s Association will also offer kid’s activities.

Some of the vendors will include Nonet/360 Realty, ABC Seamless, Backyard Experience, Bedzzz Express, Certa Pro Painters, Columbus 4 Seasons, Concrete Makeover, D-Fence, Dixie Electric & Plumbing, Home Depot, Melba’s Market, PNC Bank, Prewett/Resource Insurance, Re:Gen, Rebath, Safe Tech Securities, Southern Environmental Landscaping, Turner Fencing, Vector Security, Wholesale Mattress and Wild Birds Unlimited.

“We have many vendors already on board, including a sunroom vendor, concrete finishers, lawn supply vendors, painters, mattress vendors and pool and spa vendors, just to name a few. We look forward to seeing you there,” Maynor said.

No admission is required to enter, but it is asked to donate one dollar to go toward the Newspapers in Education program or one dry good or canned food item for the Food Bank of East Alabama.

A number of door prizes will be passed out and at least two children’s activities. The Home depot will have a children’s activity available and the Lee County Master Gardener Association may have two.

The event is sponsored by Opelika-Auburn news, the Event Center and The Home Depot.
